Studying nearby Galactic Planetary Nebulae with MUSE

Planetary nebulae (PNe) typically display a wide range of morphological and thermal structures, including regions from high to low ionization and from compact high density knots to low density extended haloes. Likewise, they may present a mix of abundances with those derived from recombination lines being generally higher than those from collisionally excited lines. In this contribution I will illustrate how integral field spectrographs, in general, and the MUSE spectrograph, in particular, can help us to gain insight into the structural complexity of Galactic PNe. For that, I will use recently published results on two PNe observed with MUSE: NGC 7009 and NGC 3132. I will discuss the mapping of extinction, electron temperature and density and chemical properties. I will finish discussing how an integral field spectrograph, even operating at relatively low spectral resolution, like MUSE, can provide with key kinematic clues to infer the intrinsic morphology of a PN.
